You can't go wrong by visiting one of the numerous national parks in the United States, whether you want an active vacation or want to enjoy the outdoors. You may engage in various outdoor activities no matter where you are—on the west coast, in the south, or elsewhere.

Yosemite National Park, Acadia National Park, and Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park are well-known parks. Presidents have left their stamp on the national park system during the last century. They have preserved new sites, increased the size of national parks, and added protection to locations that illustrate the history of important figures in our nation.

President Barack Obama expanded 25 national monuments using the Antiquities Act. Additionally, he erected five additional monuments. The civil rights struggle is commemorated by three of the monuments. These locations may be found in Delaware, Ohio, and Maryland.

The park also has a fantastic network of hiking trails. Each year, 3.3 million visitors come to the park to climb 26 mountain summits. The park's 130-mile network of hiking trails is its most significant cultural treasure. The park is also home to Route 102 to Route 102A-accessible Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse. The Islesford Historical Museum, which has a maritime history museum, is another place visitors may go.

Presidents have left their mark on the national park system by creating new national monuments using their executive power granted by the Antiquities Act. Presidents have also extended the scope of Western monuments already in place.

Between 1906 and 1978, the Antiquities Act of 1906 created 94 monuments. It was written haphazardly and might be used in a variety of circumstances. Additionally, it was used to draft contentious conservation laws. On the central Maine coast, Acadia National Park has a diverse range of land and ocean characteristics. Intact lakes, woodlands, and coastal habitats are included. Numerous species, including bears and moose, call the area home.

Since the late nineteenth century, people have loved visiting the park throughout the summer. It was referred to as Mount Desert Island at the time. The federal government declared it the Sieur de Monts National Monument in 1916.

Zion National Park offers much to offer hikers of all skill levels, from beginners to seasoned veterans. Several activities are available in the park, such as hiking, rock climbing, and kayaking. Along with various other animals, the park is also home to bighorn sheep, mule deer, and rock squirrels. The ideal time to visit Zion National Park depends on your choices, even though it is accessible all year. The middle of the day in the summer may be quite hot. Plan since the park may perhaps be a little busier.

Arid grasslands at lower altitudes and mixed conifer and aspen forests on high plateaus are only two unusual ecosystems found in Zion National Park. Zion is a fantastic area to visit due to several different causes. Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is a gorgeous and mysterious terrain that may be found in the United States. Mauna Loa and Kilauea, two active volcanoes, are located there. The park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a great place to learn about Hawaii's development. Woodrow Wilson initially developed the park in 1916. Since then, it has been accessible to the public. It has two active volcanoes and is more than 505 square miles in size.

Waterfalls and enormous sequoia groves may be seen throughout the park. A large range of animal species has flourished because of its varied geography. Mule deer, black bears, and other huge creatures reside in Yosemite. There are also other smaller creatures in the park. Sixty-seven different mammalian species live there. While some of them are imported species, others are natural species.

Visitors to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park may explore both active and dormant volcanoes. They may drive around Kilauea's crater on the park's Crater Rim Drive or walk into the landscape. Another park feature is a lava tube, or tunnel, where a torrent of flowing molten lava once was. The tube is illuminated throughout the day. It is a short, 20-minute trek that is suitable for families. Yosemite National Park is a fantastic and breathtaking terrain that may be found in central California.
